Dear customers, partners and suppliers,
the training event ‘Ejection rubber: Let’s talk about it!’ organized jointly by Serviform and CITO Italia and dedicated to Italian diemakers last November 15th, was a great success! An audience of well over 90 experts, amongst whom owners and technicians of more than 40 diemakers, participated in the training day in Caravaggio, in the "Next" space of Serviform.
The session was opened by Angelo Cantini, Serviform's managing director, welcoming and illustrating the goal of the day: to offer diemakers the opportunity to keep abreast of the most recent news on ejection material, thus contributing to improving further the quality and productivity of the die in Italy.
Ms. Melissa Monster, director of PolyMX, a CITO Group company based in the Netherlands, illustrated high performance ejection materials for rotary dies. PolyMX has a long experience in research, development and production of polyurethane material. In particular, the features and performance of PolytopMX were illustrated, which represents the high performance ejection material designed by PolyMX for rotary dies and which can also be used for flat dies. Ms Monster also documented, data in hand, how and how much it is possible to optimize production costs thanks to the choice of high quality rubber.
The ABC of the application of the ejection material on flat dies for flat cardboard was instead illustrated by Dominique Nicolo, a BOBST instructor. Mr. Nicolo explained in detail what kind of ejection material to use in the different points of the die and which distances from the rules to set for the rubber. Furthermore, he spoke about the correct positioning of the rubber in connection with the gripper positions in the SPO machines.
After a break, Jürgen Mariën, CEO of CITO Group led the audience through the vast world of rubber. He validated with effective videos the tangible advantage of using high performance ejection material that, apart from the duration which is, indeed, considerably longer, also the saving of production times is significant. With concrete calculations, Mr, Mariën has proven that a more substantial initial investment in the choice of quality rubber and creaser, however, implicates substantial benefits and real savings in production.
Mauro Tomelleri, Sales and marketing director, Serviform®, presented RubbA, the Serviform machine dedicated to rubber cutting. He compared the characteristics of waterjet cutting with mechanical cutting, a technology used by RubbA. Through data collected in a case study, the best performance in terms of time, performance and the very high reduction in operating costs of the Serviform machine with respect to waterjet systems was determined.
The training part ended with the acknowledgments of Armando Caimi, CITO Italia managing director who reiterated that Serviform and CITO Italia have many things in common, among them, their long experience in the world of die cutting, the great attention to quality of their products, their solidity and reputation for fairness. Both companies are convinced that the Italian die-cutting market must be enhanced based on performance and quality.
After three intense hours of informs, the guests were able to watch the RubbA live-demo and view other Serviform machines and CITO products on display. All the guests had the opportunity to exchange opinions and views during a convivial working lunch in which they tasted numerous specialties prepared by the students of the professional school ABF, the Bergamasca Training Company.
See you at the next training event!
