As many of you will remember, last June we launched an absolutely revolutionary machine dedicated to the rubbering of flat dies: Serviform Rubbot 2020, a fully automatic pick-and-place robot which dramatically boosts your productivity.
Serviform Rubbot 2020 is not a mere concept, a useful prototype for demonstrations at the trade fairs, but a machine ready to be installed in all dieshops that aim to increase their level of automation. In fact, the robot has been used in the field for about 12 months at Foppa Fustelle, our Group's dieshop, where we had the opportunity to further improve it!
In the time frame from installation until today, speed performances (measured on the average rubber piece positioning time) have doubled thanks to software updates and the adoption of a more performing double vision system.
To date, Serviform Rubbot 2020 installs rubbers in an automatic way on 25% of the Foppa Fustelle dies.
To provide you with a clear and unmistakable picture, we wanted to document the real job done with Serviform Rubbot 2020 with data, photos and videos. Here are the specs:
- Diecutter: Bobst SP 104-ER;
- Die for solid board: thickness 0,420 mm, product number 2020-7596, 25-up;
- Laquered Plywood: Thickness 18,00 mm;
- Cutting rule: 2Pt h. 23,80 Martin Miller HP40 centre bevel 54°, total cutting rule length 20,82 m;
- Creasing rule: Martin Miller 2Pt h 23,30, total creasing rule length 15,47 m;
- Ejection rubber: CITOject F35 35 Shore Green with Easyfix self adhesive, CITOject F55 55 Shore Blue with Easyfix self adhesive;
- Total rubber pieces: 658;
- Rubber positioning time: 58 minutes.
The sensational data is that for the same die our operators have estimated a manual positioning time of 80/90 minutes, so we are talking about a time saving ranging from 22 to 32 minutes!
Serviform Rubbot 2020 can currently process dies up to format 107, in the second half of 2021 Serviform Rubbot will be also available for dies up to format 2100.
The first deliveries of Rubbot 2020 are scheduled for January 2021.
